The Pet Parent is a puppy care journal. This page explains what the app stores, where, and who can see it. In short: your journal is yours, we don’t sell it or use it for advertising, and there are no ad or analytics trackers in the app.

On your phone

Your journal is saved on your phone so it stays available offline, and changes sync when you reconnect.

Your account

The app uses a free account so your journal is backed up and can be shared. Accounts and sync run on Firebase, operated by Google. Your email address and your puppy’s journal (profile and photo, routine, care moments, health records, expenses, caregiver names, preferences, and photos you attach) are stored in your Firebase account so you can sign in on another device and share with family.

Journal photos are compressed before upload. A photo’s link is saved with its moment; anyone you share that link or a backup containing it with may be able to view the image.

Signing out removes the journal from that phone. It stays in your account and returns when you sign in again.

Family sharing

If you invite someone, they can see your puppy’s shared journal and photos and add their own moments. Each person can edit or delete only the moments they logged. Everyone in the family space can see each member’s name and email address. The owner can remove a member at any time, and a member can leave. Invite codes expire after 7 days.

Exports

A PDF report or backup may include names, vet details, and notes you entered. You choose where to save or share it, and the destination handles the file under its own privacy policy. We don’t receive a copy.

Deleting your data

You can edit or delete individual moments and records at any time. In Settings, Delete account removes your account, your synced journal, your photos, and the journal on that phone. You need to be online and confirm with your password. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account or cloud journal. Backups and exports you saved elsewhere stay where you saved them.

Launch waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store your email address and the date you joined, only to email you when the app launches. We don’t share it or add you to other mailing lists. To be removed, email support@thepetparent.app, and we delete the list after launch.

This website

thepetparent.app has no cookies, analytics, or trackers. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.
